Let’s get real!
In two weeks time on April 14th, our other racecar will make its appearance at Evergreen Speedway. There wasn’t time to finish both the #70 and #76 cars, so we swapped the numbers and sent the #70 car out for Opening Day.
It performed well, but it’s not my racecar. The Weapon (as car #76 is fondly referred to) is making a comeback and is ramping up for its return, literally. I’m anxious to get back in it. There’s nothing quite like familiar territory.
So why you all are enjoying your Easter candy, the Total Velocity Motorsports team will be feverously changing out parts and getting the real weapon ready for the track.
Ever wonder what’s involved in reworking a Super Late Model from an open compression monster into an Evergreen Speedway crate engine Super Stock car? Here is what we will be working on this evening:
- Redistribute the weight
- Remove the dry sump oil system components
- Change the entire ignition and wiring systems
- Revamp the exhaust system from the headers on back
- Address hood clearance issues
Check back tomorrow for details on tonight’s progress!
